Defense, NATO pushes for 5%. Crosetto: "Not before 2035"
Italy could be able to increase its military spending to 3.5% of GDP between 2032 and 2035, to achieve the objectives of increasing defense capacity that NATO will probably set at its summit in The Hague on June 24-26, with a further 1.5% that would be dedicated to investments that are not strictly military but of a "dual" nature, which also have important repercussions on the economy more generally. This was stated by the Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto.
